The Big Cat Casino Adventure Fundraiser
ends with the cats as the big winners.
On November 11th, friends and supporters of the Central
Florida Animal Reserve (CFAR) gathered at the Radisson Resort at Port Canaveral
for the first-ever Big Cat Casino Adventure. The fundraiser was held for
the benefit of the lions, tigers, leopards, and cougars in residence at CFAR.
Over 163 tickets were sold for the event, grossing over $17,000 and making this
one of the most successful fundraisers for the organization.
Guests were treated to a fantastic sit-down lunch catered
by the Radisson. Presentations by CFAR staff gave everyone a new
appreciation for the plight of big cats both abroad and at home. The
highlight of the day was the open casino. People pitted their skills with
play money against the odds to see who could come up with big money. The
top winners were treated to a fantastic array of prizes including Cruises,
vacation trips, and luxury get-aways.

The play money was
plentiful, as was the fun. |
"The real winners here are the cats," says Dr. Tom Blue,
longtime supporter and President of the organization. "It is great to have
such tremendous support and positive energy for such deserving beings.
A silent auction featuring over 100 items donated for the
event had something for everyone.
"I've never seen such an impressive spread," said one
reveler. "This is truly fantastic!"
The Central Florida Animal Reserve is a non-profit 501(3)c
dedicated to the maintenance and care of over 60 big cats, including lions,
tigers, leopards, and cougars. This all-volunteer organization survives
entirely off the donations and goodwill of its supporters and sponsors.
